The Use And Performance of Graphite Electrodes 

Graphite electrode is a good high-temperature resistant graphite conductive material. Do you know the use and performance of graphite electrodes?

Common in our daily life are: Ordinary power graphite electrode (RP); High power graphite electrode (HP); Ultra-high power graphite electrode (UHP).

(1) For electric arc steelmaking furnace

Graphite electrode material are mainly used for electric furnace steelmaking. Electric furnace steelmaking is to use the research graphite electrode to introduce the working current into the furnace. The strong current at the lower end of the electrode can affect the arc discharge through these gas environments, and use the heat generated by the arc to smelt. The size of capacitance is equipped with graphite electrodes with different diameters, which can be used continuously, and is against the connection between the electrode connectors. Graphite used for steelmaking as electrode material accounts for 70~80% of the total consumption of graphite electrodes in China. (2) For submerged arc furnace

Graphite electrode’s characteristic is that the lower part of the conductive electrode is buried in the furnace charge.In addition to the heat generated by the electric arc between the electric plate and the furnace charge also generated by the resistance of the furnace charge.

(3) For resistance furnace

In the production process, the graphitization furnace used for graphite material products, the furnace and production of melting technical glass, and the electric furnace used for silicon carbide is all resistance furnaces.
(4) A large number of graphite electrode blanks are also used to process various kinds of crucibles, graphite vessels, hot-press molds, vacuum furnaces
