1. Before use the wet graphite electrode should be dried.

2. Take off the foam protective cap on the spare graphite electrode hole, and check the completion in the inner thread of the electrode hole.

3. Use oil-free and water-free compressed air to clean the surface and hole thread of the spare graphite electrode; do not clean with steel wire or metal brush abrasive cloth.

4. Carefully screw thegraphite electrode nipple into the electrode hole at one end of the spare graphite electrode (it is not recommended to install the tube connector directly to the electrode removed from the furnace), without striking the threads.

5. Screw the electrode support into the electrode hole at the other end of the spare electrode, of course that graphite is recommended.

6. When lifting the electrode, a nipple should be placed under the joint end of the spare electrode to prevent damage to the nipple; after the hook is inserted into the lifting ring of the sling, the lifting electrode should be stable to prevent the electrode from loosening at the B end or colliding with other fixing devices.

7. Lift the spare electrode above the electrode to be connected, align it with the electrode hole, and then slowly drop it; rotate the spare electrode so that the screw hook rotates downward with the electrode; when the distance between the end faces of the two electrodes is 10-20mm, clean the two electrodes again with compressed air. The exposed part of each electrode end face and connector. When the electrode is finally fully lowered, do not use too much force, otherwise, the threads of the electrode hole and connector will loosen. Damaged by a violent impact.

8. Use a torque wrench to twist the spare electrode until the end faces of the two electrodes are in close contact (the correct gap between the electrode and the nipple is less than 0.05mm).
