Graphite products because of their unique properties are widely used in the following industries:
1, As refractory material: graphite and its products have high-temperature resistance, high strength properties, in the metallurgical industry are mainly used to manufacture graphite crucibles, and in steelmaking commonly used graphite as a protective agent of steel ingot, and metallurgical furnace lining.
2, As conductive material: used in the electrical industry for the manufacture of an electrode, brush, carbon rod, carbon tube, mercury positive current electrode, graphite washer, telephone parts, and TV picture tube coating.
3, As a lubricant: Often used in the machinery industry. Lubricating oil often can not be used in high speed, high temperature, and high-pressure conditions, and graphite wear-resistant materials can be in 200~2000 ℃ temperature at a very high sliding speed, without lubricating oil work. Many corrosive media conveying equipment, widely used graphite materials made of piston cups, seals, and bearings, do not need to add lubricating oil when running. Graphite emulsion is a lubricant used in many metal processing (wire drawing, tube drawing) industries.
4, Graphite has good chemical stability. After special treatment of graphite, has many characteristics, such as corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, and low permeability, and is widely used in the production of the heat exchanger, reaction tanks, condensers, and combustion towers.,cooler, heater, filter, and pump equipment. Widely used in the petrochemical industry, hydrometallurgy, acid and alkali production, synthetic fiber, paper, and other industrial sectors, can save a lot of metal materials.
5, For casting, sanding, pressing, and high-temperature metallurgical materials: because the coefficient of thermal expansion of graphite is small, and the ability to change hot and cold, can be used as a glass mold, the use of graphite after black metal casting size accurate, surface smooth yield is high, without processing or slightly processing can be used, thus saving a lot of metal. In the powder metallurgy process of producing hard alloys, graphite materials are usually made into porcelain vessels for pressing and sintering. 6, Used in the atomic energy industry and national defense industry: graphite has a good neutron reducer used in atomic reactors, and the uranium-graphite reactor is currently more used in a kind of atomic reactor. As the decelerating material used for power nuclear reactors should have a high melting point, stability, and corrosion resistance, graphite can fully meet the above requirements. Graphite used as an atomic reactor requires high purity, with no more than a few dozen parts per million impurities. The most important thing is that boron content should not be greater than 0.5PPM.In the defense industry, graphite is also used to make nozzles for solid-fuel rockets.
7, Graphite can also prevent boiler scaling, the relevant unit test shows that in the water adding a certain amount of graphite powder (about 4~5 grams per ton of water) can prevent boiler surface scaling. In addition, graphite coated in metal chimneys, roofs, bridges, and pipes can be anticorrosive rust.
